Things to do

Glengarriff & the Beara Peninsula is a paradise for walkers. There are lots of walkways/nature trails away from traffic where you can walk for hours, , up and down mountains & hills or on the flat,  and near the sea. Any local events will be advertised on our Facebook page

The Beara Peninsula juts into the Atlantic Ocean

The 148-km Beara Peninsula juts into the Atlantic Ocean in the South West part of Ireland on the Wild Atlantic Way. This is spectacularly unspoilt countryside dotted with fishing villages, farming communities and  archaeological sites.  Don’t forget to take a trip to Dursey Island on Ireland’s only cable car at the end of the peninsula.

For the Golfer Glengarriff is the Perfect Base to play some of the most scenic golf courses both 9 hole and 18 holes in the South West of Ireland.   The scenery is inspiring, the green fees reasonable and the clubhouses welcoming. Each lends itself to an inspiring game of golf.

A visit to Garinish Island is a must–see the seals, Glengarriff Castle and Maureen O’Hara’s house (the Hollywood movie star) on your  boat ride to Garinish Island.
